Terms of Service
The rules for using Freedom Planner, including paid plans, cancellation, and refunds.
1. About Freedom Planner
Freedom Planner (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an online credit card debt planning tool at freedomplanner.io. The service helps you organise card balances, payment schedules, and budget strategies such as snowball and avalanche methods.
Freedom Planner is a planning and information tool only. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and do not provide regulated debt advice, credit broking, or lending. For personalised debt advice, contact a qualified adviser or a free charity such as StepChange or National Debtline.
2. Accounts and acceptable use
You may use the app as a guest (data stored locally in your browser) or create an account for cloud sync and paid features. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful purposes or to harm others
- Attempt to access other users' data or our systems without permission
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service
- Misrepresent your identity or payment eligibility
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or pose a security risk.
3. Paid plans
We offer the following paid options (prices may change; current prices are shown on our Pricing page):
- Pro (monthly): £4.99 per month, billed recurring via Stripe
- Pro (annual): £39 per year, billed recurring via Stripe
- Lifetime: £79 one-time payment for ongoing Pro access without a recurring subscription
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. By purchasing, you agree to Stripe's terms and our Privacy Policy.
4. Statutory cancellation rights (Consumer Contracts Regulations)
If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA buying online, you generally have a 14-day right to cancel distance contracts for digital services, starting from the day the contract is concluded.
Immediate access (Regulation 37): If you request immediate access at checkout, we may supply digital content and services straight away. Once digital content has been supplied, you may lose your 14-day statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Our voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee and your other statutory consumer rights are not affected.
If you validly cancel within the cooling-off period (where it still applies), we will refund any payment received within 14 days using the same payment method, unless you requested immediate access and digital content has already been supplied as described above.
5. How to cancel or manage subscriptions
For recurring Pro subscriptions:
- Use Settings → Manage subscription in the app to open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can cancel renewal
- Or email [email protected] from your account email
Cancellation stops future charges. You typically retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated at cancellation. Lifetime plans have no recurring subscription to cancel.
6. Voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee
In addition to your statutory rights, we offer a voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee on your first paid purchase (monthly, annual, or lifetime). If Freedom Planner is not right for you, contact us within 30 days of purchase at [email protected] with your account email and we will refund that purchase. This guarantee does not affect your separate statutory rights where they apply.
7. Refunds
To request a refund:
- Email [email protected] from the email address on your account
- Include the plan purchased and the reason for your request (optional but helpful)
Approved refunds are processed via Stripe to your original payment method. After a refund, Pro or Lifetime access will be revoked. Statutory refunds follow applicable consumer law timeframes.
8. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep Freedom Planner available and improving, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify features, pricing for new purchases, or these terms with reasonable notice where required. Material changes to paid terms will be communicated via the app or email where appropriate.
9. Liability and disclaimer
Freedom Planner is provided “as is” for personal planning purposes. We do not guarantee debt outcomes, interest savings, or credit score improvements. Calculations depend on the information you enter and assumptions that may not reflect your lenders' actual terms. We treat card rates as the APR from your statement, convert each APR to an effective monthly rate, apply that rate monthly to the interest-bearing balance (after any active 0% promotional amounts), and do not model fees or daily-balance interest calculation.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £0 if you use the free tier).
10. Support
For help with the app, billing, or refunds, email [email protected].
We aim to respond within:
- Pro and Lifetime: 2 business days
- Free: 5 business days
“Business days” means Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays. Support is best-effort and not 24/7. Billing and refund requests may be prioritised. These targets set expectations only and are not a guaranteed service level unless required by applicable law.
11. Contact and governing law
Questions about these terms, billing, or refunds: [email protected].
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
