Frequently asked questions
Security, pricing, subscriptions, and getting the most from Freedom Planner.
How is my card and balance data protected?
Your financial data is encrypted in your browser before it syncs. We only store encrypted ciphertext in the cloud — we cannot read card numbers or balances without your password. Your password is used to derive the encryption key and is never sent to us in plain text.
What does Freedom Planner cost?
Free includes up to 2 cards. Pro is £4.99 per month or £39 per year for unlimited cards and premium features. Lifetime is a one-time £79 payment with no recurring subscription. See our pricing page for full details.
Where is my data stored and who processes payments?
Freedom Planner is local-first: your plan stays in your browser by default. Pro adds optional encrypted cloud sync across devices. We do not sell your data. Pro and Lifetime payments are processed by Stripe only — we never store your full card number.
How do I cancel Pro or get a refund?
Cancel Pro anytime from Settings → Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. We also offer a voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans, in addition to any statutory cancellation rights that still apply under UK consumer law.
Can I install Freedom Planner on my phone?
Yes. Freedom Planner works in the browser and you can add it to your home screen or install it as an app on iPhone, Android, and desktop. After you sign in, open Settings and expand “Add to Home Screen” for step-by-step instructions for your device.
Is this a loan or debt consolidation service?
No. Freedom Planner is a planning tool that helps you organise repayments across cards you already have. We do not lend money, arrange consolidation loans, or set up creditor repayment schemes. You keep your cards and stay in control of every payment.
Is Freedom Planner regulated or providing debt advice?
No. Freedom Planner is a planning and information tool only. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and do not provide regulated debt advice, credit broking, or lending. For personalised help with debt, contact a qualified adviser or a free UK charity such as StepChange, National Debtline, MoneyHelper, or Citizens Advice.
Do you need open banking or my bank login?
No. There is no open banking connection and no account linking. You name your cards and enter balances yourself — bank logins and account details are never shared with us.
How do I contact support?
Email [email protected]. Free users: we aim to reply within 5 business days. Pro includes priority email support with a faster response aim.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Deleting your account permanently removes your Freedom Planner account, encrypted cloud sync data, billing profile, and active sessions. Export a backup first if you want a copy — deletion cannot be undone. Local browser data can also be cleared by removing site storage for this site.
